Postage & Packaging
When sending fresh food in the post, two things matter: the right packaging and speed. Our bacon is dry-cured, partly smoked and vacuum-packed – traditional methods that give it a naturally long shelf life. Even so, we always send it in an insulated bag with cool packs.
Dispatch days
We send out bacon four days a week: Monday to Thursday. The reason is simple: your bacon shouldn't sit in a parcel centre over the weekend.
Orders that reach us by 7 AM on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday are dispatched the same day. Later orders go out on the next dispatch day.

On public holidays we don't dispatch, and we don't send parcels out the day before a holiday either, so your bacon never sits in transit. We also don't dispatch from Christmas week until New Year: the last dispatch before Christmas is on the Thursday of the week before (order by 7 AM), and we start again in January. The expected delivery date is shown on every product page.
Once your parcel is on its way, you'll receive a tracking number so you can follow your bacon's journey from the butchery to your front door.
DHL parcel with cool packs
Our standard delivery within Germany: your bacon travels in an insulated bag with cool packs as a tracked DHL parcel and usually arrives two days after dispatch. Delivery costs € 4.90 and is free on orders over € 45.
Deliveries to a Packstation usually take at least one day longer.
Chilled overnight express
If you'd rather be on the safe side, we'll send your bacon by overnight courier for next-day delivery – in an insulated, environmentally friendly straw box with cool packs. That way your bacon stays at fridge temperature the whole way. Choose “Overnight Chilled Delivery” at checkout. Cost: € 19.90.
EU delivery
We deliver to most EU countries, for example Austria and the Netherlands. Your bacon is sent vacuum-packed in an insulated bag with cool packs as a tracked DHL Premium parcel and usually arrives within 2 to 4 working days. EU delivery costs a flat € 16.90 per order.
Send it back
Our packaging is recyclable and partly compostable. To cut waste even further, we take empty boxes back free of charge: just get in touch and we'll email you a return label.
